In the field of aerospace, the design, R & D, finalization and commercialization of airborne products often go through a long process. Before the product finalization, it is necessary to verify the performance and related parameters of airborne products, and realize the upgrading and optimization of products, so as to meet the requirements of actual application scenarios.


Compared with the general ground environment test and ground performance test, the hanging flight test of scientific research products is closer to the actual application scenario, and it is a necessary link in the performance test of airborne scientific research products. UAV, as a platform for the verification and test of the above products, is favored for its low cost and strong operability.


Recently, the HC-530 vertical take-off and landing fixed wing UAV of Honeycomb Aeronautics and Astronautics Co., Ltd  has successfully completed the flight test and flight service of autopilot in a certain place in Beijing. The flight technical indicators meet the requirements of the program, and the test task has been successfully completed.

The HC-530 vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing UAV was selected for this mission. It is a high-performance UAV system developed for application tasks in special take-off and landing environments. It boasts excellent qualities such as high reliability and convenient maneuverability. The maximum take-off weight is 55 kg, the maximum payload is 18 kg, the fastest flight speed is 144 km/h, and the maximum flight altitude can reach 3,000 meters.

According to the requirements of the flying task, the UAV is refitted and the relevant flight control interface is connected to meet the requirements of autopilot installation and data acquisition on the aircraft, which plays a very important role in the verification of the performance and parameters of its airborne equipment.

Honeycomb Aerospace breaks the original hardware framework and design rules. It customizes the flight control hardware according to customers' requirements, and realizes the access of autopilot equipment by opening the underlying AFC mode control interface. Customers can expand the functions, dimensions, power supply, interfaces, and other external aspects based on the standard configuration.

The AFC mode opens the underlying control interfaces of the angle loop and speed loop for the flight control system. The CAN bus is used to transmit status information and control commands between the flight control system and the autopilot. The flight control system receives commands from the external autopilot to complete the specified flight maneuvers.

The HC-530 UAV is equipped with equipment such as lidar, an airborne computer, and cameras. Through test methods such as takeoff and landing, hovering, and route mission flight, test items such as automatic return flight, precise landing, data disconnection, power-on detection and startup, real-time monitoring by the ground station, emergency landing, etc., and necessary data collection have been completed. This UAV has reached the domestic advanced level in terms of payload, endurance, wind resistance, and control stability. During the test process, all flight parameters of the HC-530 UAV performed excellently, and it successfully completed all the operation requirements for the flight suspension test of the autopilot.

The whole UAV is made of carbon fiber composite, The maximum take-off weight is 150kg, the payload is 30kg, the fastest flight speed is 144km/h, and the maximum endurance is 6 hours, It has the characteristics of stable flight, simple control, long flight time and high flight efficiency.


The HC-540 is a large-sized vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing UAV with general-purpose payload mounting capabilities. It adopts an oil-electric hybrid power system. With a maximum take-off weight of 150 kg and an effective payload of 30kg, it can reach a maximum flight speed of 162km/h and has a maximum endurance of up to 8 hours. It can carry different mission payloads to complete tasks such as routine inspections, 2D/3D aerial surveys, and transportation of special equipment. The platform features full autonomous flight capability and can be equipped with missile launchers to accurately track and strike targets.
